Computed Tomography Imaging Technology
Why Study Computed Tomography Imaging Technology?
Computed Tomography (CT) Imaging is an advanced, postprimary modality available to technologists certified and registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB in the primary supporting modalities of Radiography, Radiation Therapy, and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology, including students enrolled in the final semester of a JRCERT accredited program of study in Radiography, Radiation Therapy, or Nuclear Medicine Technology.
The CT Imaging Technology Program provides Technologists the opportunity to satisfy the ARRT structured education and clinical experience requirements needed to take the ARRT Postprimary Examination in Computed Tomography. The Structured Education Certificate (SEC) satisfies the ARRT requirement of at least 16 hours of CT-specific structured education. A separate CT Clinical Experience Course provides Technologists the opportunity to earn the clinical experience needed to complete the ARRT application process for the Postprimary Examination in CT. The CT Clinical Experience Course satisfies the ARRT Clinical Experience requirement. Technologists who complete the SEC and the Clinical Experience Course are eligible to apply to take the ARRT Postprimary Examination in Computed Tomography.
