How to Secure Your Class of 2023 College Commitment Scholarship
Be an NC High School Graduate
To be eligible for the Class of 2023 College Commitment Scholarship, you must have graduated from a high school in North Carolina. This includes graduates from public, private or homeschool.

2023 N.C. high school graduates (this includes high school equivalency completers (GED, HiSET) and graduates who were home schooled) are eligible.
You also need to be a first-time college student (early/middle college and dual enrollment (CCP) graduates are eligible).
- Complete a Forsyth Tech application
- Complete the 2023-24 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Forsyth Tech Alternative FAFSA (if you don’t have a social security number).
- Enroll in a curriculum program for the 2023-2024 academic year with us.
- Take at least six credit hours per semester.
The scholarship funds can only be used to cover tuition, student activity fees, student technology fee, and the CAPS fee. Books, supplies, and course materials are not covered.
The Class of 2023 College Commitment is a last-dollar scholarship, meaning that all aid from federal, state, local grants and scholarship resources are applied first to the student’s account.

No, if you are eligible for the Class of 2023 College Commitment program, you should not make a payment or set up a payment plan. The scholarship will cover the eligible expenses.
