Forsyth Tech Cares Emergency Grant Assistance
Forsyth Tech Cares provides limited emergency assistance to support students through unexpected financial crises, such as illness, family job loss, and delays in other types of funding, such as financial aid, paycheck, or military benefits. The Emergency Grant Assistance program is a “Last Dollar” program that utilizes a Referral Out process to our community partners as a first line of assistance that will then be supplemented, as needed, based upon the application guidelines listed in the dropdown.
• All students are required to complete an intake assessment/application which will include:
• Academic Standing (including GPA, conduct, persistence, retention, and completion), Financial Aid Reimbursement dates (i.e., students who are receiving a reimbursement within a week’s time would not be approved since aid will be received. Exceptions may be given in the case of imminent emergencies that are due prior to reimbursement date.
• Upon completion of assessment/application, referral connections are made via assistance from a Forsyth Tech Care Navigator. Any supplemental funds awarded will be based on availability and approved pending completion of all requirements including a signed Attestation Form. When necessary, special requests will be elevated for a higher level of approval.
• The maximum grant amount per academic year is $1,000 based upon the availability of funds. Students may only receive emergency assistance up to the maximum amount every academic school year (fall, spring and summer) during their enrollment at Forsyth Tech.
• Students must be currently enrolled or registered for the next semester or program start.
• Students must not have any conduct sanctions against them.
