Partnerships with Four-Year Schools
Forsyth Tech students are able to receive benefits at our partner institutions. From guaranteed admission to reduced tuition, see how you can simplify your path to an undergraduate degree with one of our partner colleges!
Thanks to UNCW’s Pathways program, eligible Forsyth Tech students are guaranteed admission to UNCW!
What do you need to do:
- Plan to transfer to UNCW after you complete an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science or Associate of Engineering with a 2.5 GPA at Forsyth Tech;
- Submit your Pathways to Excellence Letter of intent
The Salem Advantage is a co-admissions and scholarship program.
It guarantees that Forsyth Tech students transferring to Salem College pay a maximum tuition of $3,000 per year for the 2024-25 school year.
Students will be able to transfer seamlessly from Forsyth Tech to WGU.
Also, Forsyth Tech graduates, staff and faculty will be able to apply for specially designated WGU Community College Partner Scholarships valued at $2,500 each. Tuition is around $4,000 per six-month term for most WGU bachelor’s degree programs for the 2024-25 academic year.
Check out WGU Scholarships HereBellevue University also provide a seamless transfer experience for Forsyth Tech students, as well as the ability to apply for funding exclusively available to qualifying Forsyth Tech students and graduates.
The Pirate Promise Program is for students in their first year of coursework at Forsyth Tech.
Participants receive:
- Guaranteed admission to ECU with a completed associate degree (view the list of approved associate degrees)
- Waived ECU application fee
- A dedicated transfer coach
- Joint academic advising
- Joint financial aid counseling
Bulldog Bound is a co-admission agreement with Forsyth Tech to provide direct-entry pathways to Gardner-Webb upon graduation from community college.
Student receive:
Coordinated federal and state financial aid;
Waived application fee for GWU admission;
Coordinated degree completion so students who maintain established academic standards move seamlessly to GWU to complete upper-division coursework
The UNCG Transfer Promise is designed to make transferring to UNCG as seamless as possible for Forsyth Tech students.
Students can receive:
- Enhanced scholarship opportunities.
- Specially designed curricula that save you time and money by aligning your current study program with UNCG’s.
- Dedicated UNCG advisors on-site at your campus.
- An even easier pathway to earning your four-year degree.
Students accepted into the Aspire Appalachian program gain access to numerous benefits, including:
- Guaranteed admission to App State.
- Dedicated academic advising assistance from both their community college and App State.
- Admission counseling for assistance through the entire App State admissions process.
- Financial aid advising and planning, to help students maximize their aid and minimize their college debt.
- Priority consideration for a select number of Appalachian Excellence Scholarships (available to students who have completed summer or fall applications by Feb. 1).
- Invitations to special webinars, events and newsletters designed to help students successfully transfer to and succeed at App State.

There are agreements (called Comprehensive Articulation Agreements) in place between North Carolina community colleges and four-year institutions within the state that clearly spell out admission requirements and guarantees for students.
